Missing boy was with family as community searched

Posted: Updated:
BIRMINGHAM - AL - Five-year-old Jaderian Holloway was with a family member as the community was searching for him on Monday. Initially, police said he was last seen by his brother around midnight at their home in the 1500 block of 34th Street North. When his mother awoke Monday morning, the boy was missing.

Sunday, between 11pm and midnight, Ms. Holloway's cousin saw the two at a gas station. The cousin says Ms. Holloway appeared to be intoxicated, so she asked to take Jaderian. Ms. Holloway had no recollection and notified police on Monday.

Around 6pm Monday, Ms. Holloway's cousin called police to say that she was returning Jaderian to his home.

Jaderian and his 14-year-old brother are in DHR custody. Police say charges against Ms. Holloway are pending.
