Best and worst states for teen drivers

Wallethub.com is looking at the statistics to see which states are the safest for teen drivers.

Getting a license is a rite of passage in the U.S. But teens drivers, between the ages of 16 and 19, have the highest crash rate of any age group.

The safest state for teens to hit the road in is New York, followed by Hawaii and Illinois.

As for the most dangerous states, South Dakota is number one. Mississippi is number two, and Nebraska is number three.

Alabama ranks toward the bottom, but is still in the middle. The state is ranked 39th out of 50.
