CENTER POINT, Ala. -- Two men were arrested Tuesday on burglary and theft charges following their failed attempt to rob a 66-year-old man of his television, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said.

Emrick Canady, 22, and Marcus Canady, 19, are each charged with third-degree burglary and second-degree theft of property in connection with an incident at a home in the 400 block of Sun Valley Road.

According to the sheriff's office, the victim pulled up to his home around 4 p.m., at which time two strange women approached him to alert him of two men running away from his property with his TV in tow. The man called the sheriff's office to report the burglary and inform deputies that he witnessed the suspects ditch his TV in a wooded-area behind a home in the 2200 block of 4th Street NW.

Upon arriving, deputies set up a perimeter at the location and later arrested both men as they came out of the woods. The suspects, who are cousins, were booked into the Jefferson County Jail, where they are each being held on $10,000 bonds.

The TV was located and returned to the owner.
