CENTRAL ALABAMA - Alabama pitcher Thomas Burrows and Samford outfielder Heath Quinn were named to the Freshman All-America Team by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).

Both players were also named to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America team by Collegiate Baseball earlier this month.

Burrows served as Alabama's closer this season and converted 11-of-11 save opportunities. The total is tied for fourth in program history in a single season, and are the second most in a season for an Tide freshman. Burrows finished the year 4-2 with a 2.15 ERA.

Quinn led the Samford team with 20 doubles, to go along with a .319 average, nine home runs and 48 RBIs. The former Oak Mountain High School standout was named the Southern Conference Freshman of the Year.
