BIRMINGHAM - AL - UAB point guard Chad Frazier was arrested Wednesday and faces a charge of third-degree domestic violence stemming from an incident in April, Birmingham police said today.

According to Lt. Sean Edwards, Frazier was allegedly involved in an altercation with a woman on Apr. 17. The victim told police Frazier pushed her into a bookshelf and punched her several times with a closed fist.

Officers who responded to the incident reported seeing several bruises on the victim’s upper arms, redness on her left cheek area and small scratches on her left knee.

Following his arrest, Frazier was released from the Birmingham City Jail on a $1,000 bond.

UAB head coach Jerod Haase released the following statement:

“I am aware of the allegations regarding Chad Frazier. Once the process is complete and all the details are available, we will handle the outcome appropriately. With this being an ongoing situation, we will not be able to comment any further at this time."

Frazier was the Blazers' leading scorer in 2013-14, averaging 17.7 points a game and earning First-Team All-Conference USA honors. He was also named the C-USA Newcomer of the Year.
