Primary election: Robert Bentley wins GOP nomination for governor in landslide

Incumbent Robert Bentley has easily won the Republican nomination for governor. Incumbent Robert Bentley has easily won the Republican nomination for governor.
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Incumbent Robert Bentley has easily won the Republican nomination for governor.
    
Unofficial election returns from the Republican primary Tuesday night show Bentley with 88 percent of the vote with 2 percent of precinct reporting statewide. Former Morgan County Commissioner Stacy George is polling 7 percent and retired Scottsboro businessman Bob Starkey has 5 percent.

Bentley celebrated his victory in Tuscaloosa. He said the strong vote indicates that people like him and appreciate the work he has done.
    
Bentley advances to the general election Nov. 4 against former U.S. Rep. Parker Griffith. who defeated Fayette businessman Kevin Bass in the Democratic primary for governor.
