GARDENDALE - AL - Three Maryland men are in the Jefferson County Jail facing charges for using stolen bank account information to buy gift cards. Gardendale police arrested them at the Gardendale Walmart Friday night.

Police say 25 year old Samuel Bamindele Cole of Lanham, MD, 32 year old Olakunle Oluwaseun Ijiti of Clinton, MD and 32 year old Antwi K. Boamong of Springdale, MD were in the process of fraudulently accessing Regions Bank accounts to purchase gift cards when they were arrested. In thirty minutes, they'd spent nearly three thousand dollars using other people's accounts. The Regions Bank Card Monitoring Group notified police of the activity. When police arrested the men in the Walmart parking lot, they found dozens of recoded credit and debit cards used to purchase more gift cards in their car.

The men are being held on thousand dollar bonds.

According to police, Cole and Ijiti who were not born in the U.S. committed similar crimes in Nashville. Immigration detainers are now placed on them.
