ETOWAH COUNTY, Ala. -- Two Gadsden men are facing charges in connection with a burglary at West End Elementary School in Etowah County, the sheriff's office said.

Tony James Morgan, 26, and Robbie Lee Tucker, 37, are each charged with one count of first-degree theft of property and one count of third-degree burglary.

According to Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin, the suspects allegedly broke into the school May 8 and stole $5,000 worth of electronic equipment including 12 digital cameras. The duo reportedly caused $3,000 in damage to the property during the heist.

Investigators were able to recover two of the stolen cameras, a Kindle Fire HD and an iPad power cord, all of which was returned to the school. A projector belonging to Susan Moore High was also recovered.

Tucker was found in possession of an air conditioner that was stolen in April from Carnes Chapel Church in Attalla, prompting an additional charge of second-degree receiving of stolen property. He has since bonded out of jail.

Morgan currently remains in the Etowah County Detention Center on bonds totaling $7,500.
