Homicide detectives hunt for missing shooting victim

Posted: Updated:
Tuscaloosa's homicide unit is trying to solve a shooting, but now their victim is missing.  Homicide investigators responded to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa around 9:30 p.m. May 20.  A 30-year-old man showed up to the emergency room with a gunshot wound to the back.  The victim claimed he was riding through University Manor when an unknown subject shot at his vehicle. The victim drove to his house and had a family member take him to the ER.

However, earlier Monday evening, police also responded to a fight at the Walmart, where the victim was possibly involved, according to Tuscaloosa Police.  We're told the victim would give very little information.  Investigators processed the scene and interviewed witnesses.  When investigators returned to the ER to ask the victim a few more questions, we're told he was gone.  The victim got up and walked out before they arrived.

Investigators tried to make contact with the victim, but were unsuccessful, according to TPD.  The case is pending further investigation.
