BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- A Jefferson County judge has refused to dismiss charges against the teenager accused of shooting and killing another teen at Railroad Park in 2013.

The attorney for Justin Jones filed a motion to dismiss (click here to read) after a witness recanted his story in March, but that motion has since been denied.

Jones, who was 17 at the time of the shooting, is accused of shooting and killing 15-year-old Jarmaine Walton on St. Patrick's Day last year. An estimated 800 people were at the park at the time of the incident, but only one witness came forward with information about the killing.

A bond hearing for Jones is set for May 27.
