NEW YORK - NY - The first round of the NFL is complete and there were a few surprises.

Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel lasted to No. 22. Cleveland traded back into the first round to take the former Heisman Trophy winner.

On the other side of the emotional spectrum was Auburn's Dee Ford. He was considered a borderline first round pick but was selected with room to spare.

The Kansas City Chiefs took Ford at No. 23 overall. His teammate, offensive tackle Greg Robinson, was the first in-state player selected after the St. Louis Rams drafted him with the second overall pick.

Alabama's run of at least three first round picks each of the last three years came to an end. Linebacker C.J. Mosley was taken 17th by Baltimore and defensive back Ha Ha Clinton-Dix was drafted by Green Bay with the 21st pick.

That's where it ended for Alabama in the first round. Offensive lineman Cyrus Kouandjio wasn't selected on the first day but will likely be picked early in the second round.
