One tornado-ravaged community will get help this week after not receiving much news coverage following last week's severe weather.

The City of Adamsville and surrounding areas, including Shady Grove, sustained extensive damage. Adamsville Mayor Pam Palmer says there were no deaths or injuries, however roughly 60 houses were severely damaged.

A team of volunteers from multiple agencies and businesses will be in the area assisting with cleanup Thursday and Friday.

Palmer says the City of Hoover has also sent in resources.

Anyone interested in volunteering with debris removal are requested to
meet Thursday and Friday May 8 and 9 at the Senior Center / Storm
Shelter located at 419 Spring Street or call 674-1788.

The Red Cross will also be on Main Street at the Community Center to serve the community.
