BESSEMER - AL - Update:
2-3 buildings in the Timberline West apartment complex had their roofs blown off, and at least one building partially collapsed during the storm Monday night. Judy Townsend, who lives in one of the damaged buildings, told ABC 33/40's Candace White that she lost everything. BESSEMER, Ala. -- Strong storms caused significant damage to an apartment complex in Bessemer, and police have barricaded the property due to a possible gas leak, ABC 33/40 reporter Edward Burch said.

Authorities said around 120 people including many families were displaced by the storms late Monday night and have since been taken to the Bessemer Civic Center, where the Red Cross is expected to arrive to assist those in need. According to police, the gas hasn't been shut off yet but the rescue efforts have concluded.
