A Gordo family is searching for closure after their son, a 25-year-old US Marine, was killed in a hit-and-run incident in Mississippi last weekend.

Cason Park died early Sunday morning when he was hit by a car while walking along Hwy. 82 in Oktibbeha County. Park, whose car broke down a short distance away, was struck from behind, and the driver fled the scene, leaving authorities with little clues and a family looking for justice.

"We'd like to know. It'll give us closure," Park's father said. "Because it's wrong! And it's not how you treat a human. Whoever did it knew they did it."

Police believe the vehicle is silver and likely has damage to the front-left fender and driver's side area.

Funeral services for Park will be held Thursday at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Gordo with the visitation beginning at 12:30 p.m. followed by a burial at 2 p.m.
