Birmingham police investigating a shooting in Ensley

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Police are investigating a shooting Tuesday night that sent three people to  hospitals.

Birmingham police responded to a report of shots fired around 6 p.m. in the 1300 block of Avenue V in Ensley. Upon arriving, officers found two persons suffering from a gunshot wounds. The two were treated at the scene and transported to UAB Hospital. No word on their conditions.

Shortly after arriving to the scene, police were notified of a third person who was shot. He went to Princeton Baptist Medical Center with a wound to the midsection. His injury was considered life-threatening.

Police believe the three were part of a quarrel.
