Tulsa Police are investigating an overnight armed robbery outside an East Tulsa Applebees restaurant.

It happened at the location near 41st and Garnett around 12:30 a.m.

Police said three people were in the parking lot by an employee's car. Two of the people worked at Applebees, and the third person was a friend. The workers were closing down the restaurant for the night.

A man in his early 20s wearing a black and white bandana over his face reportedly approached the group with a black semi-automatic pistol.

Police said the man took cash from each person and a cell phone from one of them.

He ran off, past a hotel next door .

"We have officers over at apartment complexes to the west just to see if he's out walking," said Sgt. Darren Bristow.

No one was hurt in the exchange.
