SHELBY COUNTY, Ala. -- A Maylene woman charged in connection with her 19-month-old son's death in a car fire last month has bonded out of the Shelby County Jail, according to jail records obtained by ABC 33/40.

Sommer Wilford, 22, was released Mar. 20 on a $300,000 property bond after spending 20 days in jail following a fiery car crash on Feb. 28 that claimed the life of her son, Jayden Allen.

According to the authorities, deputies in Alabaster arrived at the crash scene to find Wilford standing outside of her wrecked, burning car shortly after midnight. After firefighters extinguished the flames, crews found little Jayden deceased.

Wilford is scheduled to appear before a Shelby County judge for a preliminary hearing April 2.
