Pelham Announces Spring Cleanup Days

Posted: Updated:
PELHAM - AL -

Spring is just around the corner and the city of Pelham wants to help you clean up.

The Pelham Beautification Board, the Pelham Library and the city of Pelham will offer you three different ways to clean up. On April 5th, homeowners will have a chance to get rid of items that are not normally picked up by Trash Taxi. Go to www.pelhamonline.com for a list of acceptable items. All items need to be curbside by 6 a.m. On Saturday, April 5th. The Shelby County Landfill is waiving dump fees on this date for items dropped off at the landfill. Also on April 5th, Technical Knockout will be at Pelham City Hall for e-recycling. Hours for electronic recycling will be  from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monitors are $7 each and secure hard drive destruction is $10 each. They will also take metal shelving, file cabinet and household electronics. Televisions will not be accepted.

Mark your calendars for April 26th for document shredding. The Pelham Library is partnering with Cintas Document Shredding for free document shredding for Pelham residents only. Hours are from 8 a.m. to Noon. There is a six-box limit for free shredding services. CD's/DVD's will not be accepted.
