UPDATE: Sylacauga senior with dementia located

UPDATE -- Sylacauga police now say Stephen Rosencrants has been located.  They tell ABC 33/40 he is safe with his family.

SYLACAUGA, Ala. -- Authorities have requested the public's help in their search for an elderly man who went missing late Wednesday morning and suffers from dementia, Sylacauga police said.

Stephen Rosencrants, 67, was last seen walking near the Burger King on Fort Williams Street in Sylacauga around 11 a.m. Rosencrants, who is approximately 5-feet, 8-inches tall and weighs around 157 pounds, was reportedly wearing blue jeans, a blue and black plaid shirt, a denim jacket, black boots and a red baseball cap. He has brown eyes, gray hair and a gray mustache/goatee.

"This is obviously an extremely serious situation," Sylacauga Police Chief Chris Carden said in an emergency release. "It is imperative that we find the whereabouts of Mr. Rosencrants and return him safely to his family. We are asking anyone with information to contact us immediately.
