High school "Shark Tank"

Posted: Updated:

You could think of it as "Shark Tank" for high school students.  Alabama State University has 15 of the Montgomery Public School System's (MPS) "wiliest" young business entrepreneurs taking part in the inaugural event today.
A panel will question the 15 MPS students about business plans each has developed at school.  The panel will then determine if the plan is sound enough to receive investment capital.
"Just like in the business world, to be successful in this competition will require both studying skills that reflect a good and sound business plan, as well as a sharp mind, cunning, and quick reflexes, which allow the student to answer the questions in a real-time format," said Lorenza Patrick, director of ASU's Small Business Development Center.
Patrick and several ASU business students will serve as judges for the event.
