Five schools were left without power as the storm rolled through Wednesday evening.

Margaret Elementary, Odenville Elementary, Odenville Intermediate, Odenville Middle and St. Clair County High School were closed Friday.

Below is a news release from the St. Clair County School System.

The storm that came through last night left us with five schools without power and trees blocking roadways. Therefore, the following schools were closed today:  Margaret Elementary, Odenville Elementary, Odenville Intermediate, Odenville Middle and St. Clair County High School.  At this time all power has been restored and the roads are being cleared so we will resume school on Monday.  I am in the process of assessing any damage to school property and discussing with administrators how this day will be made up.

Jenny Seals

Superintendent,

St. Clair County School System

The storm also damaged several houses in Odenville and Margaret. Trees fell and knocked out power lines. Crews worked throughout the day to restore power.
