Gulfport, MS -

A Mississippi jury has found a 71-year-old Texas minister guilty of possession with intent to distribute 200 pounds of marijuana.

Harrison County Judge Larry Bourgeois sentenced Rev. Henry Jackson Parker Jr., of Houston, to 20 years in prison after the verdict was returned late Wednesday night. Judge Bourgeois suspended 10 years of the sentenced, leaving 10 years to serve.

Parker, Jr. was originally pulled over on I-10 near Gulfport in September 2010 for a careless driving violation.   According to testimony, the smell was so strong that anyone would have noticed it.  The pot was discovered wrapped in cattle feed bags in the trunk of the vehicle.  It had an estimated street value of $175,000.
