BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The owner of a Chinese restaurant in southwest Birmingham has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly firing a shot at a customer who claimed to have found a roach in an egg roll served at the eatery, police confirmed to ABC 33/40.

The incident happened Thursday night at Good Friends Chinese & Seafood Restaurant. After giving a refund to a female customer who reportedly found a roach in her food, the upset owner of the restaurant -- Chun Ching -- allegedly pulled a gun out and fired a shot at the woman as she was walking out of the business. The bullet missed the woman, who ABC 33/40 has identified as Jatari Walker, and Birmingham police were called to the scene in the 1700 block of Dennison Avenue Southwest, where Ching was later arrested.

Ching, 52, is currently being held in the Jefferson County Jail on a $100,000 bond, police said.

According to the last inspection report posted on the Jefferson County Health Department website, Good Friends Chinese & Seafood received a 91 health rating in August 2013.
