Alabama, Auburn recruits named to Parade All-America Team

Posted: Updated:

Alabama and Auburn don't have to go far to recruit the top high school talent in the nation.

Four Alabama high school players have been named to the Parade All-America Team.

Hoover defensive back Marlon Humphrey and Auburn linebacker Rashaan Evans are first team picks, while Oxford running back Roc Thomas and St. Paul's linebacker Tre Williams earned honorable mention.

Just 57 players from around the country--13 on offense, 13 on defense and 31 honorable mentions--are selected for the Parade All-America Team.

Humphrey committed to sign with Alabama earlier this week. He returned four kicks for touchdowns and was part of a Hoover defense that gave up 8.9 points a game on it's way to winning the Class 6A state title for the second straight year.

Evans' Auburn team lost to Hoover in the Class 6A final. He finished the year with 17 sacks and plans to announce his college decision on National Signing Day. Alabama, Auburn and UCLA are his finalists.

Thomas and Williams are both committed to sign with Auburn on National Signing Day. Thomas was named Alabama's Mr. Football last month by the state's sport writers after he ran for 2,211 yards and scored more than 30 touchdowns.

Williams collected 119 tackles last season and starred in the Alabama-Mississippi High School All-Star Classic last month.

Quarterback Will Grier, who is committed to sign with the Florida Gators, is the Parade Player of the Year.

The complete Parade All-America Team will be revealed in Sunday's newspaper.
