JEFFERSON COUNTY - AL -

Investigators say a 39-year-old man confessed to three robberies.

Deputies were called to the CVS on Chalkville Mountain Road in Grayson Valley Sunday evening. A man entered the store and demanded money from the cashier. He held his hand in his pocket as if he had a gun and left without getting money. About 20 minutes later, deputies responded to a report with similar circumstances at the Winn Dixie store on Center Point Road in Pinson. Investigators say money was taken in this robbery. The description of the suspect was the same as the one given at the CVS Robbery. Deputies later spotted the suspect's truck traveling on Center Point Road. The suspect was taken into custody and money taken in the robbery recovered. No gun was found in the vehicle or on the man. The suspect's mother was also in the car when it was stopped. Investigators later learned she had not went into either of the stores and had no knowledge of the robberies.

Deputies arrested Billy Ross Sullivan and charged him with two counts of Robbery first-degree. He is being held in the Jefferson County jail on $120,000 bond. Detectives say he admitted to committing both robberies and a robbery of the Food Giant in Pinson on January 10, 2014.  Detectives say Sullivan told them he needed the money to support a heroin addiction. Additional charges are expected in the Food Giant Robbery case.
