Firefighters made quick work of a large pallet fire at a north Birmingham business Wednesday night, ABC 33/40 reporter Sherrie Evans has learned.

According to a Birmingham Fire and Rescue battalion chief, crews responded to a fire at International Pallet Inc. in the 2700 block of 27th Street North around 7 p.m. Upon arriving, firefighters found a large pile of wooden pallets engulfed by flames, but they were able to extinguish the blaze before it spread to a nearby warehouse.

Crews are still at the scene monitoring for hot spots as an investigation continues into how the fire began.

No one was injured in the incident.
