2 teens arrested on assault, robbery charges in Montevallo apartment shooting

MONTEVALLO, AL -

Montevallo police have arrested two teens in connection with a shooting at a Montevallo apartment complex Monday night that sent one woman to the hospital.

Terry Christopher Searcy, 18, of Maylene, and Kevin Valladars Gutierriez, 18, of Alabaster, were arrested Wednesday and charged with first-degree assault and first-degree robbery.

The assault charges stem from an incident in the 200 block of Overland Road at Falcon Manor Apartments, where a 20-year-old woman was seriously injured in a shooting. The victim was rushed to UAB Hospital, where she is being treated for life-threatening injuries.

Searcy and Gutierriez are being held in the Shelby County Jail on $90,000 bonds.
