Iron pipes being replaced in Marks Village, site of deadly December explosion

Posted: Updated:

ABC 33/40's Larry Miller been able to confirm that Miller Pipeline, based in Birmingham, is assisting Alagasco with preparation work related to the replacement cast iron pipes in Marks Village. 4 miles of pipe will be replaced following a deadly explosion in December that killed a 40 year old woman and critically wounded her fiancé.

Residents in Marks Village are still complaining of a strong gasoline order permeating from the ground. Sherrie Goodman, a representative for Alagasco, said residents in the area should not be concerned and that the area is safe.

The pipeline replacement project will be competed by the end March, according to Goodman.
