Police say one dead and one wounded in drug deal gone bad

Birmingham Police detectives are investigating a drug related shooting death. The incident occurred at approximately 3:00 p.m., in the 2900 block of Avenue T. Police found 27 year old Derrick Greene, of Birmingham, lying on the curb suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue pronounced him dead on the scene. The a second shooting victim was taken to Princeton Hospital by private vehicle.

Investigators learned that both subjects were involved in a drug transaction before shooting each other. There have been no arrests made in the case.
