Man, 23, arrested for allegedly raping 20-year-old woman in Tuscaloosa

 A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an alleged sexual assault of a 20-year-old woman last weekend, Tuscaloosa police said.

Andrew Blakely Turner was charged with first-degree rape and first-degree sodomy after surrendering to authorities on Monday. According to a release, officers responded to a report of a sexual assault around 10:45 p.m. Saturday at a home in the 1500 block of 17th Street East, where the alleged victim told police that an acquaintance, who was later identified as Turner, had sexually assaulted her.

Turner is being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on bonds totaling $120,000. It is unknown at this time if he has retained a lawyer.
