Posted: Updated:
The Birmingham city council plans to vote Tuesday on wether to approve more than $130,000 to help with the north Birmingham environmental clean-up.
Part of the area is a declared EPA Superfund site, including Harriman Park, Collegeville and Fairmont neighborhoods.
William Parker represents the district.  He's requesting the money to hire four consultants.  They will help with issues including public relations, coordination of activities and grant-writing.
Parker, city leaders and community members will make an educational trip to a former Superfund site in South Carolina later this month.
