The 28th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Unity Breakfast, will take place Monday, January 20, 2014 at 7am at the Boutwell Auditorium. The 2014 breakfast, themed "Birmingham Unity: Embracing Liberty and Justice for All", is the oldest Unity Breakfast in the country and honors the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The keynote address will be given by the Honorable Houston L. Brown, the first African American Presiding Judge of the 10th Judicial Circuit, Jefferson County, Alabama. In addition, the program will feature presentations by elected officials, as well as a memorial tribute honoring the lives and legacies of local, state, national and international civil rights leaders.
The Unity Breakfast is presented by the Birmingham Metro Diversity Coalition, Greater Birmingham Ministries, Metro Birmingham NAACP, the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and the Community Affairs Committee of REV Birmingham.
