Nick Saban has another spot to fill on his Alabama coaching staff after defensive line coach Chris Rumph reportedly accepted an offer to join Charlie Strong at Texas, according to a 247Sports report.

Rumph, who just completed his third season with the Crimson Tide after being hired in January 2011, will hold the same position with the Longhorns under new head coach Strong.

The South Carolina native and former Clemson assistant is credited with bolstering Alabama's rush defense, specifically in 2011, when the Crimson Tide ranked No. 1 in the country against the run. He's also been instrumental in the development of several former defensive linemen and current NFL players, including the Seattle Seahawks' Jesse Williams, the Indianapolis Colts' Josh Chapman and the Philadelphia Eagles' Damion Square.

Rumph's salary last season was $360,000.

Saban will look to replace Rumph just one day after hiring former Southern California head coach Lane Kiffin as his new offensive coordinator, replacing Doug Nussmeier, who left Alabama for the same job at Michigan. It's possible that Saban shuffles around some of his current coaches' job duties to fill the void left by Rumph, but a new hire is also likely.

Some possible candidates for the vacant position include current director of player personnel Kevin Steele, who recently turned down an opportunity to be the defensive coordinator at Louisville under the newly-hired Bobby Petrino.

A hot name circulating on the message boards is Ed Orgeron, who is still in the market for a job after USC declined to make him the full-time replacement for Kiffin as the Trojans head coach. Orgeron served as the defensive line coach at USC then as the interim head coach after Kiffin was fired five games into the 2013 season. He helped salvage the Trojans' year, leading the team to a 7-2 record, 6-1 in the Pac-12, in the final seven games, including a 45-20 win over Fresno State in the Las Vegas Bowl.

Another candidate being talked about is Florida State defensive ends coach Sal Sunseri, who previously worked at Alabama as Saban's defensive line coach from 2009 to 2011.
