BIRMINGHAM - AL -

Auburn tiger fans are heading west.  Many football fans began flying out Friday morning, heading to Pasadena, California for the BCS National Championship game.  Several charter flights departed Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International airport early Friday.  Fans will arrive at the Rose Bowl with a weekend of festivities and tailgating before Monday's game.

However, a storm in the northeast is causing some travel worries.  Even though the weather is fine in California, dozens of flights arriving at, or leaving, Los Angeles International Airport Have been canceled.  The ripple effect comes from delays in cities where snow and ice are hampering flights.  About 5,500 passenger had to find new flights to get to their destination, at last check.

As far as the tiger fans ABC 33/40 talked with, most were flying into Las Vegas.  One family of ladies were going on a sight-seeing trip before the game.  Cindy Parnell and her daughters are having a "girl's trip" and ending on the national championship.
