TUSCALOOSA - AL -

The alleged driver, connected to a deadly Tuscaloosa New Year's Day fatal crash, turned himself in Wednesday afternoon, according to authorities.

22-year-old KiAnthony Davis will be taken to the Tuscaloosa County Jail soon.

Two people were killed and several more were injured in the Wednesday morning wreck that happened around 3 am at the intersection of McFarland Blvd. and 15th Street.

Two females, a 20 and 45 year old, were killed. The names of the victims will not be released until Thursday, according to investigators.

Investigators said Davis was driving recklessly with excessive speed when his vehicle ran a red light causing the fatal crash. He then fled the scene on foot, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Detectives believe alcohol was involved.

Three people were injured in the vehicle Davis was driving. All three were treated and have been released.

Authorities said there was also one serious injury to a passenger in the victim's vehicle. A 22-year-old male is being treated at DCH.

Two murder warrants for the suspect's arrest were obtained Wednesday morning. Davis turned himself in around 2:15 pm.
