Susan Moore High School teacher on administrative leave after allegedly sending nude photos to student

Posted: Updated:

A Susan Moore High School teacher has been placed on paid administrative leave after allegedly sending nude photos to a student, Blount County District Attorney Pamela Casey confirmed to ABC 33/40.

The teacher is accused of sending, along with the nude pictures, sexually-charged text messages to a 15-year-old male student.

While the case centers around the possible inappropriate communication with a student, Casey says a separate investigation is underway into the high school's principal and superintendent after they allegedly waited a week or longer before notifying authorities of the incident.

Casey, who said the two school leaders have yet to respond to her inquiries about the case, has enlisted the help of the Alabama Bureau of Investigation to assist in the probe of the principal and superintendent.

Superintendent James Carr wouldn't comment on camera, but told us, "the teacher is on administrative leave pending investigation by the ABI." He wouldn't comment on the investigation into himself and the Susan Moore principal.

Details regarding possible charges against the teacher haven't been released.

ABC 33/40's Sarah Snyder will have the latest on this story on the news at 5 and 6 p.m. Watch live online here.
