A man claimed he opened his apartment's door for 2 strangers who then shot at him before he returned fire and fled. He then told police that he was unsure if the suspects fled the scene or if they remained inside the apartment.
Tuscaloosa police arrived at Stone Creek Apartments to apprehend the suspects, but they were unsure if the suspects barricaded themselves or fled. When they entered the apartment, they found no evidence supporting the man's claim. Police say the claim was false.
Police found bullet holes in the apartment, but those holes were from the man's gun. There had been no one else in the apartment.
The subject was taken to North Harbor psychiatric facility for observation.
