A few of Santa's helpers made an early stop at Hudson K-8 School, Wednesday morning.

About 250 students received a shipment of toys.

It's part of "Project Blue Elf," which is a program developed by the BBVA Compass Foundation. The initiative focuses on providing toys to children in need.

Volunteers also helped students decorate holiday cookies and other Christmas activities.

"Every child leaves here with a toy," Alan Register said. "So, we'll end up spending about three hours out here with the kids. It's a highlight for everybody. It's a highlight for our folks and it's a highlight for the kids."

"Project Blue Elf" is a seasonal initiative kicked off with donations from BBVA Compass Bank and other volunteers.
