Trial date set for VictoryLand casino raid

Posted: Updated:
MONTGOMERY - AL -

A Montgomery judge has scheduled a trial date involving a raid at VictoryLand Casino in Macon County.  The trial is set for June 3.  That's when a judge will determine whether the state government can keep the cash and destroy the gambling machines seized in a raid back in February.  State Attorney General, Luther Strange, raided the casino and seized 1,615 gambling machines and more than $223,000 in cash.

VictoryLand is trying to keep the state from keeping the money and destroying the machines.  The casino has been closed since the raid.  The non-jury trial will be held in Montgomery rather than Macon County.
