It was Halloween night when 33-year-old Tywaun Perkins was pumping gas. Then, he lost his life. His killer is still on the streets, and police need your help.

Birmingham Police Chief A.C. Roper explains why you shouldn't be afraid to take a stand.

"I'm Birmingham Police Chief A.C. Roper.

This happened Thursday, October 31. Tywaun Perkins lost his life that night. He was 33 years old.

We need to know who's responsible for taking his life. So please tell us what you know.
Even if it's not much, one tip could be the clue we need.

Here's what we know. That night around 8:30 police were called to 74 6th Avenue South because someone had been shot.

When they got there, Perkins was at the Exxon gas station with multiple gunshot wounds.
He was dead.

Witnesses say Perkins was pumping gas when a black male came from behind the alley and started shooting with a rifle. Perkins was able to get inside the store, but he collapsed.

So here is what we need. Who is responsible for Perkin's death? I'm sure word has spread about who did it. We just need you to call Crime Stoppers. Tell us what you've heard. Trust me: We will keep you anonymous. Plus: Crime Stoppers cannot call you to court to testify, so there's no need to fear.

Someone needs to speak up and step up for Perkins. He and his family need justice. We're counting on you.

With Crime Stoppers, I'm Birmingham Police Chief A.C. Roper."
