Alpha Loans Cautions Consumers Against Taking Out Payday Loans For Christmas

Posted: Updated:

Alpha Loans has published a new blog post in their news and advice section advising caution to those tempted to take out a payday loan to cover the cost of Christmas.

San Francisco, CA, United States of America – December 6, 2013 /MarketersMedia/ —

Christmas is coming, and with the emphasis firmly placed on gift-giving in the western consumer culture, the holidays are always considered an expensive season. Even in difficult economic times, parents and loved ones want the best for one another and are sometimes tempted to spend beyond their means to buy extravagant gifts, which drives them to take out short term loans that could land them in trouble. Alpha Loans Payday Loans is a payday loan provider that puts its borrowers first, and has published new material cautioning against payday loans to cover Christmas expenditures.

In Alpha Loans‘ latest post, they explain that taking on additional loans means taking on further responsibility to repay, and the short term advantage of a single day’s gift-giving will pale in comparison to the legacy of repayments. Payday loans, they claim, should only be used to cover essential expenditure.

The company perhaps hope for a return to the spirit of Christmas as a time for family and values instead of spending. They are promoting this ideal because they are committed to responsible lending and do not provide payday loans themselves, but have an established list of recommended providers who have compete for the business to drive rates down.

A spokesperson for Alpha Loans explained, “We are not a payday loan company – rather, we want to offer a service by which individuals who need the service of a payday loan company can get the best possible deal available and avoid the trap of predatory lenders. Because we put our customers first, we of course advise against the reckless use of payday loans, and using them to cover extravagances in the holiday season does not fit their intended use, and can lead to damaging debt spirals if individuals can’t repay. Payday loans can be a great lending tool but they should only be used in the right circumstances.”
