Oneonta downs Charles Henderson 28-10 to win Class 4A State Championship

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Avery Reid rushed for three touchdowns and Oneonta High School beat Charles Henderson High School 28-10 Friday in the Class 4A state championship game at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Reid scored on runs of 5, 2 and 4 yards to give the Redskins their fourth state title and first since 2004.

Terrell McDaniel added 163 rushing yards as Oneonta totaled 326 yards on the ground. Quarterback Ko Powell completed eight passes for 127 yards and a touchdown. The Oneonta defense forced four turnovers in the win.

Baylor Barnes kicked a 26-yard field goal for Charles Henderson in the second quarter, and John Johnson punched in a 3-yard touchdown run in the fourth, but it was too late.

Oneonta capped the scoring with a 22-yard touchdown pass from Powell to Brock Latta late in the fourth quarter.
