Auburn fans gearing up for SEC Championship

Who could forget the final play of this year's Iron Bowl game? It was one that will go down in history.

In the final second of the game, Chris Davis returned a missed field goal 109 yards to score the game-winning touchdown over archrival and then-No. 1 Alabama.  Following the 34-28 win, Auburn fans don't want to see that kind of sensational play and magic fizzle entering the Tigers' SEC Championship game matchup against No. 5 Missouri.

"We're ready for Atlanta and we're ready for the national championship," said Dan Chavez, a board member for Auburn's local alumni chapter.

Fans know the 2013 Tigers have made considerable progress under first-year head coach Gus Malzahn, and they want the success to continue.

"We've got it. We've got it. We need to come in there and play hard like we always do," said Chavez.

To show their support, the alumni association will send a bus-load of people to watch the game. They'll also host a watch-party for fans in Birmingham.

"We're having a game watching party at Dixie Fish company. We are doing that in conjunction with the crew from the bunker," said Chavez.

While in Atlanta, the Auburn family can attend a pep rally and a coaches luncheon.

Third-ranked Auburn heads into the conference title game as a 2-point favorite over Missouri and with hopes of a BCS National Championship berth.

"We had a win in 2010 and now this....War Eagle," said Sue Manderson, an avid Auburn fan.
