ALICEVILLE - AL -

The cleanup of a derailed train in West Alabama is going as planned and rail line could be back in service by next weekend. Crews have been working around the clock to remove the derailed cars and to repair the rail line.

Late Thursday night the train derailed just outside of Aliceville. A total of 12 cars derailed, 3 of them were carrying crude oil and exploded.

The train's locomotives and more than 60 cars that did not derail have been removed from the site. Rail traffic is being rerouted until the site is completely cleaned up.
