Crews moved a nearly 200 year old house to a new location in a west Alabama community so it can be saved and refurbished.  The Molette House was built in 1825.  It was previously located in Dallas County near Orrville, on the edge of the Alabama River.  Wednesday, owners Eleanor and David Chetham moved the house several miles to a new spot.  The two got the house for free from an owner who had planned to demolish it for lumber.

The 188 year old house weighs more than 80 tons.  The couple has plans to preserve the original home plus build additions to make space for bathrooms and a kitchen.
