Who needs turkey? Kmart to open at 6am Thanksgiving Day

Before you even pop the turkey in the oven, you can get a head start on your Black Friday shopping.

Kmart will open at 6am on Thanksgiving morning and stay open for 41 hours straight until 11pm on Black Friday.  It appears to be the earliest opening yet of any retail store.

Black Friday, of course, is considered the unofficial start of the holiday shopping season.  In recent years, however, Black Friday has slowly been encroaching on the traditional Thursday Thanksgiving dinner.

Parent company Sears said Monday it will wait a little longer, and open its doors at 8pm on Thanksgiving Day.
