POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Morning Producer will set the table for each day’s morning newscast. This person must generate story ideas that could be immediately used on air, work with anchors on scripts and help designate live shots. Also, he/she will plan for the next day’s report and guest segment and will oversees the producing and writing of the newscasts. Must works closely with the Executive Producer of Broadcast Content and News Director to shape our Station’s coverage in a competitive metered market and ensure that the Station’s website contains current news information and updated stories. Performs other duties as needed and assigned. Reports directly to the News Director.

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in Journalism or related field preferred. At least three to five years of progressively responsible experience in line producing newscasts. Experience in a metered market is a plus. Must be a strong writer and editor who understands how to showcase content and meet the expectations of the a.m. viewer. Must be a proven leader with excellent news judgment who enjoys exploring creative and new ways to deliver content, while maintaining a clear focus on viewers. Should possess strong collaboration and interpersonal skills when working with multiple departments. Must be a strong communicator under breaking news deadlines and have a background that demonstrates a daily commitment to all news platforms, including our social media and website. Must be proficient with the use of graphics and all newsroom resources and able to handle multi-task projects. Must have the ability to work well under stressful and/or time sensitive situations.
