Detectives believe someone has the link that will put a killer behind bars. Police are asking you to join their efforts in solving a case. It happened last December. Birmingham Police Chief A.C. Roper has details.

"I'm Birmingham Police Chief A.C. Roper.

You may remember the name Timothy Stewart. He was 31 years old when someone ended his life.

It was the day after his birthday on Friday, December 7, 2012. Stewart was found outside Brookside City Hall. He was slumped over in the passenger's seat and had been shot and killed. We believe the killer shot Stewart through the front windshield.

We later found out that he was shot at Hood's Qwick Mart on Dugan Avenue in Birmingham. A witness told us that Stewart had asked him for a ride to the gas station. He took him. As the witness watched him leave the store, Stewart spoke with several men for several minutes. Then one of the men shoved him. That's when Stewart got back in the car. Then, the witness said Stewart was shot by the man who pushed him.

What we need is for someone to come forward. Was this a retaliation? Do you know anyone who "had it in" for Stewart?
