Miles College Ribbon Cutting and Dedication Ceremony Highlights 4 New Buildings on Campus

Posted: Updated:
FAIRFIELD - AL -

Miles College campus is being transformed.   Officials cut ribbons for 3 brand new buildings and dedicated a fourth building at ceremonies on campus mid-day today.  The four new structures served as a backdrop to outdoor ceremonies.

Miles College renamed and dedicated the George T. French Jr. Activity Center, the Teresa E. Snorton Residence Hall, the Stewart-Reddick Residence Hall and a Welcome and Student Enrollment Services Center.  Some of those buildings are still under construction but should be completely within the next 30 days. The 204 bed residence hall will serve as a women's only dormitory. This is the first time in its history that three facilities were unveiled concurrently.

Established in 1898, the traditionally black college has plans for significant expansion in the near future.  Two existing facilities on campus are on tap to be renovated.  In addition, 30 acres which encompass the North Campus will eventually be developed and house new classroom facilities.
