Recipe #3 Wed. Oct 16: Scottie’s Ginger Snap Cookies

Scottie's Ginger Snap Cookies

Prep Time: 5 min Cook Time: 8-10 minutes

Makes about 4 dozen cookies

Ingredients

  • 10 tablespoons butter

  • 1 cup Sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1/4 cup of Molasses

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 2 teaspoons of Baking Soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground Ginger

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 2 1/8 Cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup sugar for rolling the cookies in

Directions

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

In a large bowl, combine all ingredients well.

Form into small balls about 1 inch in diameter. Roll each one in a small bowl of sugar to coat. Place on a baking sheet 2 inches apart.

Bake for approximately 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Can be stored in an airtight container for weeks.
